The Hill Stations of Coorg tower majestically above the Southern Indian plains not far from Bangalore – and house little-known coffee estates and cardamom plantations amongst the lush, dense forests.

It’s a gloriously fruitful region, where coffee bushes and coconut groves are surrounded by bamboo, tropical mango and chikoo – and shade trees are enveloped by pepper vines. Pumpkins and mooli thrive in the fertile soil, while rice paddy fields produce fragrant grains, and green cardamom grows further up in the misty hills.
